Shankarrao Ursal College of Pharmaceutical Sciences & Research Center,Khardi, Pune. was established in ______ with the motivation of Late Prof. Ramakrishna More, President of PuneDistrict Education Association. The College was established, keeping in view the fact that there was no college of higher education within the fast developing area ofSangvi, Aundh, Baner, Wakad, Kalewadi, Pimple Gurav, Pimple Nilakh, Thergaon,etc. The major population in this area comes from middle class and is economically weak. There are four higher secondary school in this area.

Access to higher education was a problem for these students especially for girls since other senior colleges were more than 10 Kms. away from
