Visionary leader who believed education is the foundation of social transformation

Late Shri Baburaoji Gholap

“Bahujan Hitay, Bahujan Sukhay”

The Pune District Education Association (PDEA), founded in 1941, is one of the most respected and socially committed educational institutions in Maharashtra. Its inception was inspired by the noble vision of Late Shri Baburaoji Gholap, whose lifelong mission was to bring quality education within the reach of the common people.

At a time when higher education opportunities were limited, especially for rural and economically weaker families, Shri Baburaoji Gholap realized the urgent need to establish institutions that would offer affordable and inclusive learning.

His dedication laid the foundation for an educational movement that empowered thousands of students across Pune district and continues to inspire the values of service, inclusiveness, discipline and excellence.
