Research Center – Promoting Academic Excellence, Innovation and Ethical Research Practices
Objectives
Promote a research-oriented culture among faculty and students across all departments.
Encourage quality research leading to publications, patents, presentations, and funded projects.
Support initiation, execution, and dissemination of research work within the institution.
Identify thrust areas and emerging fields for collaborative and interdisciplinary research.
Facilitate workshops, FDPs, and training in research methodologies.
Provide guidance for proposal writing, grants, and ethical approvals.
Strengthen linkages with industries, research institutes, and funding agencies.
Ensure adherence to research ethics and academic integrity.
Mechanism
- Formation of Committee: Annual constitution with Chairperson and departmental coordinators.
- Planning & Policy Development: Formulation of research policies and annual R&D plans.
- Identification of Research Areas: Consultation with departments to identify thrust areas.
- Proposal Development Support: Internal review, proofreading, ethics guidance, and grant writing sessions.
- Project Facilitation: Assistance for internal and external funded projects.
- Monitoring: Regular review of progress reports and research database maintenance.
- Ethical Compliance: Mandatory ethics committee clearance for applicable research.
- Dissemination & Recognition: Organizing conferences, seminars, exhibitions, and recommending awards.
Functions of the Committee
- Promote and nurture research culture among faculty and students.
- Facilitate collaborations with national and international institutions.
- Guide faculty in preparing proposals for DST, DBT, ICMR, UGC, AICTE, SPPU, etc.
- Scrutinize and approve internal research proposals.
- Maintain records of publications, citations, patents, and funded projects.
- Organize FDPs and workshops on research methodology, IP rights, SPSS, and data analysis.
- Promote ethical practices and prevent plagiarism.
- Encourage student participation in Avishkar, internships, and research competitions.
- Facilitate journal selection guidance and manuscript preparation support.
- Recommend infrastructure improvements for research laboratories.
